Moving Mountains

I had an epiphany about Faith today...

As I was out running through the hills of Marin, I had a light bulb go off.  It’s interesting that many times when I am in motion of some kind, some of my clearest thoughts emerge and in a moment, those things I might wrestle with normally produce clarity and new perspective.

In this season of death and rebirth, fall and recovery from the fall, shedding and letting go, I realize that for most of my life, I have equated having Faith with the honoring of a belief system by which I was raised.  In many instances, I can look back and see how the nearness and familiarity of being raised with a certain worldview and religious tradition, often produced a distance and numbness towards the whole thing. And becoming increasingly afraid to admit I had doubt.

It never occurred to me that it would be as a result of a season of Crushing, and with it, a new permission to ask some really big questions, would I begin to understand what Faith looks really looks like when it has become the only thing you have to take your next breath.

It grows when we are willing to die to our need for answers, our addiction to control, our incessant problem-solving approach to life. Faith flowers when we come to a place in our experience where we recognize that our own internal resources are, and will never be, enough to walk us through the fires of life. Faith asks us to trust things we cannot see and often not explain. It is counterintuitive on the deepest level.

Faith does not exist as an adjunct to human effort. It is not a “flow source” that can be tapped into, should our own planning go awry. Faith is a gift that cannot be manufactured, controlled, or consumed.

It can only be exercised.

Faith does move mountains.
Even the ones inside of us we’d thought would never move.

The Governance Of Perfect Love

Most of us are aware of the world events that are ramping up in an intensity, whether it be the multi-faceted trouble in the Middle East, the killing of innocent majestic animals for the sake of "sport", the troubled waters that are a result of the disaster known as Fukashima, the collapsing banking system that is causing bankers to plunge from building windows, the unethical wars that our government continues to engage in at the expense of human life lost for no other reason than the lust of power and greed…and the list goes on.  We instinctually know that we are entering a birth canal of sorts that is about to move us from a once warm, safe environment and way of being, through a tight passageway that will deliver us to a brave new way of living!

Anarchy is an incredible idea. However, it requires that we would commit to living in a Love Covenant with each other. There is no room for ego in Anarchy.  I believe that in its purest essence, it is the system by which we will build our New Reality as we rise from the ashes of a collapsing paradigm, which has brought with it the slavery of a monetary system that has led to the gain of a FEW at the expense of the MANY.

We who live in the United States (even those of us in various Spiritual Communities), have been lulled by the idea that our prosperity is limited to the confines of succeeding in this current Capitalist system, which has appointed the dollar as the chief determiner of our perceived success or failure.
Many of the largest organized Religious structures are tied to this paradigm at their very core.  They have fallen prey to the slavery of monetary power where those in leadership are the elite, and have power over those who revere their authority, as if it were the Authority of the Godhead.

World governments and hierarchies work in concert with each other, because they understand that in order for them to remain in power, they must perpetuate the idea that there is a fundamental need for their existence among the people. They recognize that if the world began to understand that Love itself is the collective internal government that will usher in the Kingdom that Jesus was speaking of, they would no longer have any power. The governance of Love will feed the hungry, set slaves free, rescue the exploited and allow every human being to walk in the very Purpose that they are uniquely created to express here on this Earth.

I’ve wondered why it was necessary that part of my life journey would have included being formerly entrenched in conservative ideology and politics. I now realize that often it is the very subcultures that we come out of that give us the perspective we need to bring greater definition to our uniquely appointed Purpose in this Lifetime. We all have been given gifts that become the vehicles by which we can contribute to the enrichment of those around us, causing a ripple affect of change in the very way the world can and WILL operate in the years and decades to come.
A Love Shift is upon us and there are an increasing number of us who have the eyes to see this Truth.

“You’ve been given insight into God’s kingdom. You know how it works. Not everybody has this gift, this insight; it hasn’t been given to them. Whenever someone has a ready heart for this, the insights and understandings flow freely. But if there is no readiness, any trace of receptivity soon disappears. That’s why I tell stories: to create readiness, to nudge the people toward receptive insight. In their present state they can stare till doomsday and not see it, listen till they’re blue in the face and not get it. I don’t want Isaiah’s forecast repeated all over again:

Your ears are open but you don’t hear a thing.
Your eyes are awake but you don’t see a thing.
 The people are blockheads!
They stick their fingers in their ears
 so they won’t have to listen;
They screw their eyes shut
so they won’t have to look,
so they won’t have to deal with me face-to-face
and let me heal them.

But you have God-blessed eyes—eyes that see! And God-blessed ears—ears that hear! A lot of people, prophets and humble believers among them, would have given anything to see what you are seeing, to hear what you are hearing, but never had the chance.” –Matthew 13

The only government in Perfect Love is the internal governing of the Spirit, which in turn allows us live collectively in Trust with each other, as we demonstrate that this ruling and reigning with Christ we read about only happens when we are truly Living out of the overflow of the Christ Mind.
This kind of government is rising up among the ashes of an archaic system that is all but on Life support. There was a reason that Jesus went into the temple and cracked a whip and turned over the tables of the money- changers. He was the perfect balance of Love demonstrated and both strength and humility, and new that in order for an Eternal Kingdom to come, the bondage of the old system must collapse.
We are living in the most exciting of times. In Love, we know there is nothing to fear as this monumental change is upon us. Our assignment is to sink our roots deeper into this Perfect Love that casts out any fear of what our eyes can or can’t see.  As we commit to walking deeper in this Love and it’s governance in our own Lives, we will become the change that those who have gone before us knew was to come.
And THIS is what Love looks like:
“If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don’t love, I’m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate.
If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing.
If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.
Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.

Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.

Love doesn’t strut…

Doesn’t have a swelled head…
Doesn’t force itself on others..
Isn’t always “me first,”…

Doesn’t fly off the handle..
Doesn’t keep score of the mistakes of others..
Doesn’t revel when others grovel..
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth..

Puts up with anything..

Trusts God always..

Always looks for the best..

Never looks back..
But keeps going to the end.
Love never dies.
Inspired speech will be over some day; praying in tongues will end; understanding will reach its limit. We know only a portion of the truth, and what we say about God is always incomplete. But when the Complete arrives, our incompletes will be canceled.
When I was an infant at my mother’s breast, I gurgled and cooed like any infant. When I grew up, I left those infant ways for good.
We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us!
But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love.”

Grateful to be growing together in Love at all cost…..<3
